A video spread on social networks showing a teacher in the Kumkurgan district of the Surkhandarya region attempting to set himself on fire. The regional Department of Preschool and School Education issued an official statement regarding the incident.
According to the statement, the school in question is located in the Arpapoya neighborhood, where Z.A. had worked in the position of director from 2010 until September 16, 2025. By order of the Surkhandarya regional Department of Preschool and School Education dated September 16, 2025, the employment contract with Z.A. was terminated in accordance with Article 157 of the Labor Code.
Subsequently, the former director showed resistance to the start of the new principal's activities. On October 13, 2025, during the submission of appointment documents at the school, there was active resistance from Z.A., but no one was physically harmed.
By decision of the Department, E.A. was appointed as the head of school No. 39 in accordance with the established procedure. Currently, the educational process at the school continues in a stable manner.
