According to information from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, a compatriot who had been held in a penitentiary institution in Sakarya province was released by a court decision.
According to the consulate, diplomats visited a penitentiary institution in Sakarya province on October 16 and held meetings with a group of Uzbek citizens being held in detention.
Legal consultations were conducted with them, and separate conversations with lawyers were also organized.
It was reported that at a court hearing held on October 30, a decision was made to release an Uzbek citizen who had been imprisoned since 2024 on suspicion of storing narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
