People's Artist of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of Uzbekistan Yoqub Akhmedov has died at the age of 87.

The famous artist performed bright roles in numerous theater and film works throughout his career, making a great contribution to the development of national art.

Yoqub Ahmadov was born on January 3, 1938, in Namangan. He graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Arts. He had worked at the Hamza Theater since 1958.

He charted his creative path with his initial roles such as Ali Qushchi (Maqsud Shayxzoda, "Mirzo Ulugbek"), Murad (Uyghun, "Parvona"), and Leicester (Friedrich Schiller, "Mary Stuart").
