38-year-old Cédric Jubillar was found guilty of murdering his wife. He maintained his innocence throughout the trial and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. The case is notable for the absence of a body, the absence of witnesses, and the fact that all evidence against Jubillar was circumstantial stands.

"We respect the jury's decision," said defense attorney Alexandre Martin. "Of course, our client was disappointed, but we knew we had another fight ahead of us and we are working on the appeal."

As Jubillar's defense emphasized, there is no proof that a crime was even committed, as his wife's body was never found.

Cédric Jubillar reported his wife Delphine missing to the police in the early morning of December 16, 2020. At the time, the couple, who had two children aged six and a half, lived in the town of Cagnac-les-Mines in the Occitanie region of southwestern France.

A large-scale search yielded no results: his wife's body was not found.
