In Ecuador's Cañar province, President Daniel Noboa's motorcade was again pelted with stones by hundreds of protesters. According to the Minister of the Environment, Inés Manzano, when the head of state was on his way to the inauguration ceremony of a water treatment plant, approximately 500 people surrounded the motorcade and attacked it.

According to officials, bullet marks were found on the presidential car. At least 5 people have been arrested in connection with the incident, and they are expected to be charged with "terrorism" and "attempted murder."
