We previously reported that on September 24, several children at preschool institutions in the Piskent and Bo'ka districts of the Tashkent region felt unwell and were hospitalized. The incident aroused great public interest and concern, prompting the Ministry of Preschool and School Education to issue an official statement regarding this situation.
According to the Ministry's information, the children were sent to district medical associations and were diagnosed with "Acute functional disorder of gastrointestinal activity, food toxic infection." All patients were prescribed the necessary treatments, and the majority of them recovered and were discharged home the same day. No critically ill children were identified.
This situation has been taken under the control of the Ministry and is currently being studied in detail in cooperation with the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Committee and law enforcement agencies.
According to preliminary information, the 3.2% kefir product consumed by the children may have caused this situation.
It has been reported that this product was supplied from one of the production workshops located in the Oqqo'rg'on district.
Currently, doctors are conducting laboratory tests on samples taken from the children and from the food products delivered to the kindergartens. Epidemiological investigation processes are ongoing.
The Ministry announced that additional official information will be provided regarding the final investigation results and the identified circumstances.
