According to the Global Intelligence unit's 2025 "Pension Report," Portugal was found to be the best country for retirement abroad.
Mauritius, Spain, Uruguay, and Austria also ranked high in the ratings.
This rating is based on 44 visas, passive income programs, and living conditions in 44 countries related to international pension migration. The assessment consolidated 20 indicators into six sub-indices.
Portugal offers a D7 visa for foreigners planning their retirement. This visa grants the right to permanent residence in the country to individuals who have a stable passive income, such as a pension or rental income.
It is worth noting that in Uzbekistan, the retirement age is planned to be increased gradually. According to the draft, the retirement age for men could be raised to 63, and for women to 58.
