Saint Petersburg The identity of the young man from Uzbekistan who died in the tragedy that occurred in the city has been established. According to the Consulate General, he was A.U., born in the Surkhandarya region in 2001, and had been working in Russia since April of this year.

On September 16, the young man fell from a height of 15 meters at the construction site of the Russian Supreme Court building and died at the scene. An investigation is currently underway, and the possibility of opening a criminal case is being considered.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Saint Petersburg and the Migration Agency have established contact with the relatives of the deceased and are providing practical assistance in repatriating his body to his homeland.

For reference, this is the second Uzbek national to have died while working in Russia in recent weeks.
