The girl who was the main protagonist of the "bear cage" incident that shocked everyone several years ago has now tragically died at the hands of her mother.

Her mother—a woman sentenced to lifelong mental illness—stabbed her daughter just a few days after being released from the hospital.

In early August 2025, Zilola Tulaganova, born in 1991 and living in the Sergeli district of Tashkent, inflicted severe injuries with a kitchen knife on her daughter—Zarina Akhadova, a 7-year-old who had just started school a week prior. The young girl died at the scene from the injuries she sustained.

According to reports, the woman was discharged from a psychiatric hospital on August 2 of this year and was permitted to return home. However, leaving the mentally ill mother unsupervised led to another tragic outcome.

The Sergeli district prosecutor's office has now initiated a criminal case under Article 97 (Intentional Homicide) of the Criminal Code regarding the incident. The woman has been detained in accordance with procedural rules, and investigative actions are being carried out.

We recall that in January 2022, this same girl was thrown by her mother into the Caucasian bear cage at the Tashkent Zoo. Due to luck and the animal's atypical behavior, the girl survived with severe injuries. Three years later, the tragedy has now mercilessly caught up with her.

In the previous incident, a criminal case was also initiated against the mother under Article 97, Part 2, Subsection "v" via Article 25, but due to the woman's insanity and persistent mental problems, the court had prescribed compulsory medical treatment.
