A bill has been introduced in the Russian State Duma to limit the number of opportunities for migrants to pay for school education and take free Russian language proficiency tests. RBC reported this.

According to reports, a bill has been prepared in Russia to charge migrant children for school education.

It is emphasized that by 2025, due to the increasing number of migrant children in Russian schools, there will be a shortage of places for over 900,000 students. The bill aims to save budget funds, provide additional payments to teachers, and increase interest in learning Russian abroad.

However, some deputies strongly oppose this initiative. In an interview with the publication "Podъём," Anatoly Wasserman, a member of the education committee, stated that this idea could legally exclude migrant children and leave them outside societal oversight.

This bill had been discussed earlier but was rejected in the first reading and sent back for revision.
