In February 2024, Anvar Juraev, the former head of the "Toshshahartranskhizmat" joint-stock company, who was sentenced to 7.5 years of imprisonment, was released in June 2025.

According to the ruling issued by the Tashkent City Court's appellate judicial panel on June 5, his prison sentence was replaced with a restricted freedom sentence. This means Juraev gained the right to live freely under certain restrictions for 4.5 years.

Additionally, he was deprived of the right to work in financially responsible or managerial positions within the "Toshshahartranskhizmat" system for 3 years.

It should be noted that Anvar Juraev faced numerous charges, including large-scale embezzlement, tax evasion, abuse of power, official corruption, and money laundering.

As noted in the court verdict, he caused significant material damage to the state. However, the reasons for his release and the motivation behind the court's decision remain unclear.
