Turkey remains a popular destination among German tourists, but the number of visitors from Germany has noticeably decreased due to sharp price increases in hotels and restaurants. This is reported based on data from the "Travel Data + Analytics" marketing research institute.

According to figures, prices in Turkey's Aegean coast and Istanbul in June 2025 have risen by an average of 36% compared to 2024. As a result, travel agencies in Germany note a 10% decline in summer bookings for the "Turkish Riviera" destination.

This trend is also negatively affecting Turkey's economy—13% of the country's gross domestic product comes directly from the tourism sector. According to Katrin Pasvantis, a representative of Germany Trade & Invest, tourism is one of the key sectors driving overall consumption, transportation, and retail trade networks in Turkey.

Experts believe that the decline in tourist flow has led to several economic problems in Turkey—a weak national currency, slow reduction in inflation, and a lack of confidence in financial markets. This is also affecting the country's position in the eyes of foreign investors.
