A law enforcement official in Tashkent city was detained on suspicion of fraud and bribery. This was reported to DXX Darakchi.uz.
According to reports, the head of a department in the Mirzo Ulugbek district's internal affairs coordination office, a lieutenant colonel U.S., promised to apply a preventive measure of bail instead of detention for a person accused under Article 273 of the Criminal Code. In exchange, he received $18,000 USD from the suspect's relative.
However, the official failed to fulfill his promise and was caught with material evidence while attempting to return part of the money.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against him under Article 168 (fraud) and Article 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure of detention has been applied. Investigative actions are ongoing.
