Negotiations between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Xi Jinping took place.

In the presence of the leaders, it was announced that a protocol was signed on the completion of bilateral negotiations on Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO.

On June 17, negotiations were held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. The President's press service reported this. 

Bilateral and regional issues of significance were discussed.

The state leaders noted with great satisfaction that the relations of friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China have reached an unprecedented high level in recent years.

The agreements reached during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to China in January 2024 are being consistently implemented.

An increase in the level of contacts and exchanges at all levels was noted.

The strategic dialogue between the foreign ministers was established. The second Regional Forum was successfully held in the city of Samarkand at the beginning of June this year.

Trade-economic and financial-investment cooperation is rapidly developing. In 2024, trade turnover reached 14 billion dollars. The investment project portfolio exceeds 60 billion dollars.

Joint technoparks and specialized industrial zones are successfully operating in the regions of our country, the production of "BYD" electric vehicles is expanding.

Promising projects are being developed in "green" energy, oil and gas, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, mining, textiles, food and construction sectors, as well as in logistics, "smart" agriculture, artificial intelligence, and digitalization.

Mutually beneficial cooperation with leading financial institutions of China has been established. An expansion of the investment platform with the "Silk Road" fund is planned. Construction of the Olympic village in our capital with the participation of the China Exim Bank is being completed. A regional branch of this bank was opened in Tashkent city.

Special attention was given to deepening cooperation in the fight against poverty.

The leaders also noted the importance of accelerating the construction of the "China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan" strategic railway.

There is interest in developing exchanges in the fields of education, science, tourism, culture, training personnel and studying the Chinese language.

In Uzbekistan, a branch of China's Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University is operating, and an International Mathematics Center has been established at Urgench University in cooperation with Peking University.

Last year marked the 20th anniversary of the Confucius Institute, and China's "Lu Ban Workshop" professional education system is being implemented.

Culture and art weeks are planned to be held in both countries next year.

International agenda topics were also discussed during the meeting. The importance of continuing coordination and mutual support within the framework of the UN, SCO, "Central Asia - China" format, and other multilateral structures was noted.

In conclusion, a declaration on the completion of bilateral negotiations for Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO was announced in the presence of the leaders.
