Today, on the morning of June 17, Russia launched strikes on various districts of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. The attack resulted in damage to a multi-story building, caused fires, and injured up to 16 people. This was reported by the “Meduza” publication.
It is noted that people heard noises resembling drones flying in the capital's sky and rockets passing overhead.
The air raid warning remained in effect for more than seven hours after it had been announced.
Areas outside the capital were also attacked, including locations around Kyiv and the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia. There, the regional governor reported at least four strikes.
According to information provided by Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko via Telegram, most of the injured were in the Solomyanskyi district, located near the city center.
There, a drone damaged the upper floors of a multi-story building and other non-residential buildings.
The head of Kyiv's military administration, Timur Tkachenko, said that a total of 12 strikes were recorded in 5 districts.
Among the targets was a kindergarten on the city's eastern outskirts.
“The capital is under a complex attack. Russians are using missiles and drone strikes in combination. Fires broke out in various districts, and emergency services are actively working,” Tkachenko wrote.
According to his words, drones attacked the Solomyanskyi district several times.
“It was a very tough night,” he wrote.
Also, some areas experienced power outages.
