Our country's agriculture sector has suffered a heavy loss. The renowned farmer, chairman of the “Azim Shofirkon Star” farm, public figure, and Hero of Uzbekistan, Azim Shukurovich Latipov passed away on June 6 this year at the age of 74. died.
A.Latipov was born on June 5, 1951, in the Shofirkon district of Bukhara region. After finishing secondary school and later graduating from the Tashkent Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Technical School, he started his work life as a mechanic at the “Bukhara” collective farm in Shofirkon district and for many years effectively worked in the same farm as the brigade leader.
The hardworking man, who devoted his entire conscious life and labor activity to the development of our country's agriculture, from 1996 started managing the “Bukhara” collective farm as its chairman, becoming a role model for many with his vast knowledge and experience, organizational skills and dedication, and managed to double wheat yield under challenging climatic conditions.
In shaping the farming movement in our country, A.Latipov showed remarkable courage by establishing the “Azim Shofirkon Star” farming enterprise in 2007 and successfully managing it until the end of his life, transforming it into a truly progressive and modern, diversified farm. Thanks to the hard work and noble initiatives of this diligent farmer, a unique school of experience was created here, and the farm is conducting effective activities in livestock, poultry, fish farming, gardening, and vegetable growing. Homes of underprivileged families in the area are being repaired, and they are provided with grain and food products on a charitable basis.
Azim Latipov lived as a true elder of the people, always bearing the worries and troubles of the nation. For many years, he made a significant contribution to strengthening our national independence, advancing our socio-economic development by drafting and implementing critical laws, undertaking extensive landscaping works in the region, and improving the living standards of the population as a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and as a deputy of the People’s Deputies Council of Bukhara region.
The great services of A.Latipov to our state and people were rightfully honored. He was awarded the “Shuhrat” medal and the highest award of our Homeland – the "Hero of Uzbekistan" title.
The bright memory of the distinguished farmer, famous public figure, modest and noble man Azim Latipov will always be preserved in our hearts.
