Individuals attempting to illegally sell land plots in various regions of Uzbekistan have been detained as a result of rapid response operations conducted by the State Security Service and relevant agencies. The total amount of money they demanded exceeds 500 thousand US dollars.
In Khorezm, the director of a gardening-oriented LLC attempted to misrepresent 19.9 hectares of land as “30 hectares,” and asked for 180 thousand dollars in exchange for facilitating the official registration and approval for the construction of a multi-storey building. He was caught red-handed at the time of receiving the money.
In Fergana, the head inspector of the Cadastral Agency's Kokand city department demanded 150 thousand dollars for assisting a farmer in acquiring land and constructing a greenhouse. He, too, was detained at the moment of receiving the money.
In Tashkent region, a convicted individual living in Angren city demanded 100 thousand dollars for the sale of more than 2 hectares of land, plus an additional 21 thousand dollars for registration. He was caught upon receiving the total amount of 121 thousand dollars.
In Surkhandarya region, an employee of the “Topalang-Koratog” irrigation system took 70 thousand dollars and 39 million UZS for the official registration of 32 ares of protected land area as private property. He was also detained during the criminal act.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated for all incidents, and investigative actions are being carried out.
