Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at a press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Mers in Berlin, emphasized the need for his country to participate in the NATO summit in June.
He said that Kyiv's non-participation in the summit would be a geopolitical achievement for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"This will be a victory over NATO, not Ukraine," Zelenskyy said.
He also accused Russia of delaying peace talks. According to the Ukrainian side, Moscow has not yet agreed on the venue for the next bilateral meeting.
"They are constantly looking for reasons not to end the war," Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president expressed gratitude to Germany for the delivery of air defense systems (PVO) and noted the existence of important agreements with Berlin in this area. Details of these agreements were not disclosed.
