Turkish Airlines is implementing a practice to fine passengers who stand up before the airplane has completely stopped and the “fasten seatbelt” sign is turned off. This was announced in a directive issued by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Turkey here

According to official information, such actions are considered violations of aviation rules. Additionally, failure to comply with the instructions of the crew during landing, and opening the overhead bins without the permission of the crew are also considered violations.

Representatives of Turkish Airlines explained that this measure aims not only to maintain order but also to prevent injuries that may occur due to unexpected movements of the aircraft or the falling of luggage.

Cabin crew are required to inform passengers about this new rule before each landing. So far, no specific information about the fine amount has been provided.
