The European Union may impose tariffs on cars and airplanes, as well as various other products imported from the US, totaling 95 billion euros. This was reported by the European Commission.
In addition to cars and airplanes, the list also includes food products, raw materials, and industrial equipment. In particular, turkeys, salmon, Brussels sprouts, crude oil, coal, dental equipment, and even human hair and "preservatives" for wigs can be subject to customs duties.
A European Union official based in Brussels stated that the list only includes products from alternative suppliers. For example, medicines are not included in this list. Now this proposal will be discussed by 27 EU member states and can be approved with the consent of the majority.
At the same time, the European Commission announced that it has filed an official complaint with the World Trade Organization against US President Donald Trump's customs policy.
