President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the "Patriots of the Nation" alley in Victory Park. The President's press service reported this.
The memorial, organized based on the idea of our state leader, is dedicated to the memory of military service members and law enforcement officers who died in the defense of our country during the years of independence.
The complex is visible from above in the shape of the crescent moon and twelve stars on our state flag. The edges of the nearly two-meter stars also serve as memorial stones. The names of our 196 heroes are inscribed on their sides in gilded letters. Next to these tablets, monitors are installed to display information about the patriots of the nation through photos and videos. That is, not just their names come to life before our eyes, but also their childhood, dreams, profession, and family.
The half-moon on our flag has bestowed beauty on the alley in the form of a small amphitheater. Water flows from its top, symbolizing purity. The sculpture composition on the back side of the moon completes the artistic concept. At its center, the figures of parents sending their child to military service are presented. On either side, the services of the defense, interior, and emergency situations ministries, the Supreme Court and the prosecution, the State Security Service, the Customs Committee, the National Guard, and other organizations are depicted.
Our President met with the family members of the deceased military service members here.
– Every year, we come here to remember the losses of World War II. Now that we have created this complex dedicated to the patriots of independence, it has been a good deed. Because they too are our national heroes. In this regard, this square has great spiritual significance. This is both self-awareness and the value of human life, – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The leader of our state expressed his deep respect to the families of the defenders of the motherland.
– These brave sons, without thinking of themselves and remaining loyal to their duty in dangerous situations, sacrificed their lives for their people. In our current peace, the clarity of our skies is largely their contribution. Their families and all their loved ones must know that they are among us, alive in a sense, their names will never be forgotten. We have sealed this here in this square. I bow to their parents, their spouses. I wish their children to be worthy of their heroic fathers, – the President emphasized.
The importance of holding memorial events in the home districts of the patriots of the nation, showcasing their bravery to the youth as an example, and writing works about their heroism was stressed.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited participants of World War II and the labor front, congratulating them on the holiday.
– First of all, I congratulate you, and through you, all our honorees, on the 80th anniversary of Victory. On behalf of our people, I express my deep gratitude to all of you. Thanks to your heroism, today's generations live in such peace and prosperity. We need to convey the value of this peace to our youth through you. Your life itself is an example to us. Every word you say is a great lesson, knowledge. May God grant you robust health so that you may remain our pride and prayers for many years, – Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished.
The elderly mentioned that historical memory is revered in our country, and great respect and attention are shown to the elderly, offering prayers.
According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 19, due respect is being shown to war and labor veterans. Participants and disabled veterans of World War II are being awarded one-time monetary rewards of 10,000 US dollars, and those equated to this category are receiving 25 million som; labor front participants are receiving 3 million som. Many venerable elders are being awarded "80th Anniversary of the Victory in World War II" jubilee medals.
Medical and social services, including patronage services, are being provided for war veterans and disabled veterans. They are undergoing treatment in sanatoriums at their request.
The conditions of families of military service members and law enforcement officers who died during the years of independence while performing their duty are being looked into, with the participation of leaders of relevant ministries, departments, organizations, and military units, and assistance is being provided for their needs.
