The leader of our state inspected the wagons produced in our country and the electrified Urgench-Khiva railway.
Currently, the 465-kilometer “Bukhara-Urgench-Khiva” railway has been electrified, protective barriers have been installed, and necessary facilities have been constructed. For this direction, 6 high-speed electric trains have been purchased from South Korea’s “Hyundai Rotem”, and from next year they will be introduced on the Tashkent-Khiva route under the name “Jaloliddin Manguberdi”.
As a result, over 3 million passengers will be served annually. Currently, the train journey from Tashkent to Khiva takes 14 hours, but with the introduction of the electric train for this route, it will take 7 hours and 40 minutes.
Furthermore, the capacity for freight trains will reach nearly 6 million tons. Currently, this figure is 1 million tons.
Based on the decision of our president on October 10, 2023, to fundamentally reform the railway transport sector, the wagon manufacturing industry is also being strengthened. In particular, $50 million from the Renewal and Development Fund has been allocated for the production of passenger wagons. The first 10 passenger wagons were built and completed in the first quarter of this year.
The leader of our state inspected the conveniences in them.
In the next two years, the number of passenger wagons will be increased by 70, gradually phasing out the older models. As a result, the capacity to transport over a million additional passengers annually will be created.
The president went to Khiva from Urgench on this new train along with the public. He observed the beautification along the way, and the trees planted along the field edges.
Last year in the region, nearly 10 million saplings of trees and shrubs were planted within the framework of the “Green Space” national project. “Green belts” have been established by large industrial enterprises.
This year, early in the spring, the scale of agriculture expanded. Profitable crops were planted in areas exceeding 1,100 hectares along field edges and around canals. Entrepreneurs have been engaged for guaranteed purchasing. The “Agrokol’smakchi” mobile app is being used to provide information about field edges to the public.
