Dear friends!
As we talk about our thinker ancestors who shone like bright stars in the Islamic world during the medieval times, we inevitably mention the blessed name of Imam Tirmidhi in the first ranks.
Our great ancestor, Imam Bukhari's beloved disciple – acclaimed as the “Sultan of Hadith scholars,” whose bright memory, immortal works, and high human virtues have wrapped our homeland in glory and honor for over twelve centuries, is a source of legitimate pride for us.
Imam Tirmidhi, recognized as one of the six great hadith scholars in the Muslim world, and his collections of hadith are considered among the most respected sources, which clearly confirms the Islamic ummah’s perpetual reverence for this distinguished figure.
The agenda of today’s conference includes hot topics like “Ash-Shama'il al-Muhammadiyah” and “Sunan al-Tirmidhi” among other unique works, the scientific heritage of Tirmidhian scholars, and their relevance today, which is another practical manifestation of this respect.
Dear participants of the forum!
In recent years, significant efforts have been made in our country to study and promote the invaluable legacy of many scholars, including Imam Tirmidhi, to honor their sacred memory, and to maintain their blessed places, contributing immensely to the development of the Islamic religion.
While discussing this, it is important to highlight the construction of a majestic memorial complex in the Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region, the establishment of an international scientific-research center, a secondary special Islamic educational institution, and an Islamic Institute named after him in the city of Termez.
These institutions, in collaboration with the Uzbekistan International Islamic Academy, the Center for Islamic Civilization, the School of Hadith Sciences, and other religious educational and scientific research venues, are intensively studying the life and activities, and rich heritage of Imam Tirmidhi. His works are being published in numerous copies. Many scientific research works, books, and literary works are being created about him.
I trust that you, esteemed participants, during the days of the conference, will closely familiarise yourselves with these efforts and share your suggestions and thoughts on further strengthening cooperation in this direction.
As the inheritors of great scholars, we emphasize that our religion is one of peace, virtue, and humanity, and believe it is our primary duty to utilize this invaluable wealth to fulfill the noble aspirations of humanity and to ensure its seamless transition to future generations.
I express my deep gratitude to you, beloved individuals, and all representatives of science, who have been valiantly aiding along with the scholars of our country in achieving such a noble objective.
The doors of leading research and educational institutions of Uzbekistan are always open for you.
Once again, I heartily congratulate all of you, wishing you health, great success, and achievements in your scientific and creative endeavors, and success in the conference work.
