According to the Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, Iskandar Qutbiddinov, the decline in air quality is related to the daytime and evening temperature difference of up to 14 degrees, fog, and a decrease in wind speed. These conditions are hindering the dispersion of pollutants.
Currently, a special commission continues its activities, conducting environmental monitoring and inspections at industrial and economic facilities. Inspections have been carried out at 12 enterprises in Tashkent city and 22 in Tashkent region, and administrative measures have been applied to polluting vehicles.
Experts emphasize that unfavorable conditions will persist until January 16-17, after which air quality will normalize with the arrival of anticyclones. State agencies are working in an enhanced mode and continue measures aimed at ensuring environmental safety.
