The foreign ministries of both countries announced this on December 29.
The statement from the countries emphasized that these measures are aimed at the unconditional normalization of relations between the two states. Currently, there are no diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia, and the border has been closed since 1993.
In recent years, relations have been gradually improving: in the summer of 2022, Erdoğan and Pashinyan held a meeting in Istanbul, and in 2023, Pashinyan held a meeting in Ankara.
