The Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia announced that a man threw himself from the upper floor of the Masjid al-Haram in the city of Mecca. This was reported by Khaleej Times.

According to the report from the special forces securing the safety of Masjid al-Haram, this person jumped from the upper floor of the building with the intention of committing suicide. A security officer present at the scene tried to prevent him from hitting the ground with force and was also injured as a result. Currently, both individuals are in the hospital and are receiving necessary medical assistance. All relevant legal and official procedures regarding the incident have been completed.

The chief imam of Masjid al-Haram, Sheikh Abdul Rahman al-Sudais, made a statement regarding this incident. He called on visitors to adhere to the rules of the sacred sanctuary and to follow the established guidelines.
