According to the Hindustan Times, a bronze statue depicting the characters Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) and Simran (Kajol) from the popular Bollywood film "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" was ceremoniously unveiled in London's Leicester Square. The statue was installed to mark the film's 30th anniversary and is noted as the first Hindi film to have a statue on the "Scenes in the Square" walkway.
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol personally attended the unveiling ceremony and revealed the statue. In his address on Instagram, Shah Rukh Khan recommended that those visiting London should definitely see the statue.
Released in 1995 and directed by Aditya Chopra, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (DDLJ) tells the love story of Raj and Simran. The work is one of the most famous romantic films in the history of Indian cinema and was shown continuously for over 25 years at the Maratha Mandir cinema in Mumbai.
The film still holds a special place in the hearts of audiences for its exploration of themes of love, tradition, and courage.
