An illegal gold trade was exposed during a rapid operation conducted in collaboration with the DXX and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes in the Kattakurgan district of Samarkand.

Three citizens living in the Navoi and Samarkand regions were caught while agreeing to sell 475-gram gold ingots for 737 million soums.

According to information, they were caught with material evidence at the moment they received 500 million soums from the buyer. The expert conclusion determined that the purity of the gold ingots was 994, with a total value of 740.4 million soums.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals under part 4, paragraph "a" of Article 177 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out.

It was reported that two of the suspects had been previously convicted, and one of them is currently serving a sentence of correctional labor.
