In Jizzakh region, the head of the district Department of Emergency Situations was detained for taking a bribe from an entrepreneur in exchange for approving project documents.
According to information, he had previously approved documents for the construction of an apartment building and received 200 US dollars. Later, when the entrepreneur applied for a school construction project, the official this time demanded 6 million soums.
During an urgent operation conducted by the State Security Service and Prosecutor's Office authorities, he was caught receiving the bribe money through his wife.
A criminal case has now been initiated against him under Part 2, clauses "a" and "v" of Article 210 of the Criminal Code. According to this article, the official can be imprisoned from 5 to 10 years.
