On October 16, 2025, the 17th High Criminal Court in Istanbul's Bakırköy district issued a decision to release a citizen of Uzbekistan — a 22-year-old young man originally from the Samarkand region.
The court considered the charges against him in a case related to narcotics trafficking. Consulate General diplomats also participated in the court proceedings.
According to the investigation, it was established that 30 kg of cocaine and 800 kg of psychotropic substances were brought into Turkey from Europe. Our compatriot did not directly participate in this crime but was detained because he was working in a suspicious area.
After studying the case materials, the judge stated that there was no need for detention and decided to release him.
