The senior inspector of the Entrepreneurship Support and Service Department of the Fergana Regional State Tax Department demanded $30,000 USD for officially registering a 48-acre agricultural land plot, allocated through an electronic auction in 2023 for a 30-year lease in the Fergana district, in the name of a buyer through his acquaintances in high positions for his younger brother. This was reported by the SSS information service.
During an operational event conducted jointly by the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the tax official was caught red-handed with material evidence while receiving the money.
It is reported that a criminal case has been initiated against him under Part 4, paragraph "a" of Article 168 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are currently being carried out.
