According to French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian President Vladimir Putin is not making a "peace" proposal regarding Ukraine; he is demanding capitulation.

He emphasized that for a stable peace system, Ukraine must have a strong army. At the same time, European countries need to determine to what extent U.S. President Donald Trump will support security guarantees for Kyiv.

Macron described the situation as "extremely serious for Ukraine and Europe," warning that showing weakness in front of Russia would create the groundwork for future conflicts.
