U.S. President Donald Trump has given Russian President Vladimir Putin a 10-day deadline to resolve the Ukraine conflict. He announced this to journalists before leaving Scotland.
"Starting today, ten days," Trump said. If Russia does not take concrete steps toward peace within this period, the U.S. will impose previously announced tariffs on Moscow.
"I don’t know if this will affect Russia or not. Because it seems they want to continue the war," added the White House leader.
Trump also described the lack of response from Putin to his ultimatum as a "shameful situation."
Earlier, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the Kremlin had "taken note" of Trump's remarks.
