Earlier, a video was shared on social networks showing several individuals engaging in conversations with people under the guise of conducting interviews, through which they fraudulently collected money. This caused public discussions and the Tashkent City Police Department provided information regarding the incident.

It was reported that rapid response measures were carried out by the capital's Police Department and the Chilanzor District Internal Affairs coordination department’s criminal investigation unit.

As a result, 3 individuals suspected of involvement in this case were detained. It was revealed that they were holding conversations with citizens under the pretext of conducting interviews, then fraudulently collecting money for reasons such as mosque construction, and aid for disabled persons among other excuses. Money collected from them was officially documented in the presence of witnesses as evidence.

“We often asked for money from people as they exited the “Friendship of Peoples” metro station, near Magic City, saying, “Can you contribute to charity, to a good cause?” Those who gave, gave 10,000, 20,000. It won't happen again. I apologize to our people,” said one of them.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code regarding this situation. Investigative actions are currently underway.

Citizens are urged not to give money to such individuals and to immediately report such cases to the internal affairs agencies if encountered.
