President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of plans in the fields of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications on July 1st. This was reported by the Presidential press service.
The vast opportunities created for the development of digital technologies in our country have brought significant results. The number of IT Park residents exceeded 2,800, and foreign companies reached 752. In this area, 40,000 young people are earning high incomes.
In the last 5 years, the export of the sector has approached 1 billion dollars from 170 million dollars. Internet speed increased by 7 times, and mobile internet increased by 4.5 times. Last year, 70 million dollars in venture investments were poured into startups in the sector.
As a result, Uzbekistan moved up 12 positions in the “Global Startups Index” rating, entering the “TOP-100”. Last year, our country rose 17 positions in the “Artificial Intelligence Readiness” international index, taking the 1st place in Central Asia.
Persistent efforts in this regard continue. In particular, next year it is planned to digitize state services by 70%, and increase the volume of IT services to 100 trillion UZS. It is aimed to rise to at least the 55th position in the “Electronic government development index”. A number of document projects have been developed to achieve these indicators.

Today, 760 state services have been digitalized. Last year, 10 million citizens used digital services.
Our state leader emphasized that it is time to move to the next stage of “Digital government”. It was stated that this should begin primarily with the sectors of education, medicine, construction, and utilities, which receive the most public appeals.
In accordance with the decision of the President of Uzbekistan on October 14, 2024, the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies was adopted until 2030. $50 million was allocated to improve the infrastructure in this area. The task to create a national model of artificial intelligence and train 1 million specialists was set.
The Minister of Digital Technologies provided information about the stages of implementation and measures to improve infrastructure.
Increasing the volume and export of services in the sector is also an important task. Currently, the main part of these indicators falls on the share of Tashkent city. Due to the conditions and privileges in Uzbekistan, other relocants also see the benefit of coming to our country. Therefore, it was emphasized that it is important to create an attractive environment in each region and attract foreign companies.
