It is noted that the Taliban-led Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan has canceled the 25-year oil agreement with China's “Afchin” company.

The reason for this is indicated as the company's violation of the contract terms multiple times.

An inspection was carried out regarding the agreement to extract oil from the Amu Darya basin, resulting in the finding that “Afchin” had not fulfilled its obligations.

The Taliban is involving international consulting firms to clarify the calculations.

According to the contract, the company was supposed to invest $150 million in the first year, and $450 million in the following three years.

It is mentioned that the Amu Darya basin has an oil reserve of 87 million tons.
