Russia launched a heavy missile and drone attack against the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, early this morning, June 6. As a result of the attacks, 4 people were killed, and 20 were injured, with 16 of them hospitalized.
This attack was carried out by Russia in response to an attack made by Ukraine on Russian bomber aircraft.
Kyiv's mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, said on Telegram: “4 people were killed in the capital. Search and rescue operations are continuing in several places.”
According to the city military administration, the Russian attack damaged a metro train, leading to the suspension of the metro transportation system. Additionally, fires broke out in residential buildings in various areas.
“Reuters” reporters relayed hearing the whistling sound of Russian kamikaze drones cutting through the sky and the counter-fire noises of Ukrainian air defense systems during the attack.
