In India, an attack by an unidentified animal resulted in the death of six people. The fatal incidents were recorded in the Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh state. This was reported by “Daijiworld News” here.

According to the publication, the animal is suspected to have been rabid. Everything started on May 5th when 17 villagers were attacked. Some of the survivors mentioned that the animal resembled a dog but acted differently. Others noted unusual characteristics: bent legs and a curved back, which are typical of hyenas. According to witnesses, there was no screaming at all.

All 17 victims were vaccinated against rabies at Barwani and Indore hospitals. However, from May 23rd to June 2nd, six people – four men and two women aged between 40 and 60 – died, raising concerns about a mutated strain of the virus, lack of vaccine, or a new type of infection.

The villagers emphasized that three domestic animals also mysteriously perished after the attack, which intensified fears of a mutated virus or a new threat from wild nature. The delayed response of the health and forest departments has been criticized by the population.
