Three lawyers have been detained in Qashqadaryo for alleged fraudulent activities, the State Security Service (DXX) told Darakchi.uz.
Reportedly, a lawyer from a legal bureau in Qarshi was caught while accepting $4,000 in exchange for replacing the detention measure imposed on two individuals by the Chiroqchi district court with a more lenient one through contacts in the judiciary.
In another case, a lawyer promised to influence a civil case being handled by the Qarshi Interdistrict Court in favor of a client. He was detained while receiving a total of 3.5 million soums and an additional $500.
In the third case, a lawyer promised to positively resolve a hooliganism-related investigation in Muborak district without even signing a legal service agreement. He was caught after receiving a total of 4 million soums.
Criminal proceedings have been launched against the lawyers under the relevant provisions of the Criminal Code, and investigations are currently ongoing.
