The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the European Union's Special Representative for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprais, on May 13. The Presidential Press Service reported this.
The EU Special Representative conveyed the greetings and best wishes of European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Issues of expanding bilateral and regional cooperation within the framework of implementing the decisions adopted at the first "Central Asia - European Union" summit held in the city of Samarkand in April this year were discussed.
Special attention was given to preparing and advancing specific projects worth a total of 12 billion euros in terms of investment and financial-technical cooperation as soon as possible.
Discussions took place regarding current issues on the regional agenda, and the plan for upcoming events was reviewed.
