As a result of the events in the city of Al-Fashir in Sudan, at least 60 thousand people were killed within three weeks, and more than 150 thousand people disappeared without a trace. Zamon.uz reported on this.
"This area resembles a slaughterhouse," says Nathaniel Raymond, director of the Humanitarian Research Lab at Yale University. His team is analyzing the situation with the help of satellite imagery.
The scenes are horrific: markets are empty, property is lost. The city, which previously had a population of 1.5 million, is now almost in ruins. Human rights defenders call this event the most horrific war crime in Sudan's civil war.
As a result of conflicts and ethnic cleansing in Sudan, nearly 400 thousand people have been killed in the last 32 months, and 13 million people have become displaced. The events pose a serious threat to the lives of the population and are attracting the attention of the international community.
