According to Ukrainians interviewed by DW, Moscow is not currently ready for any negotiations.
"Putin is so confident that he thinks he will win against us. That is why there will be no agreement for now," says a Kyiv-based political analyst.
Some, however, believe that a deal between Israel and Hamas could have a positive impact on the international situation.
"The world is tired of wars. If peace is established in the Middle East, Europe will also act more actively to end the war in Ukraine," says another interviewee.
At the same time, many citizens in Ukraine emphasize that any agreement with Russia can only be achieved when the forces are equal.
