The leaders of the U.S. and Russia will hold talks at the summit in Anchorage, the White House press secretary Caroline Levitt announced.

According to her, the initiative for the meeting came from Putin.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed preparations for the summit scheduled for August 12. Both sides expressed hope that the meeting will be successful.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, however, stated his firm opposition to the idea of "exchanging territories," previously mentioned by Trump, and emphasized that this issue cannot be discussed without security guarantees.
