In the Magaramkent district of Russia's Republic of Dagestan, 302 citizens, including 294 children, sought medical attention with symptoms of intestinal infection over the past three days. 93 patients are currently hospitalized.

The cause of the disease outbreak may be water taken from the "Zhepelsky" source located 14 km from Magaramkent.

Local residents are advised to use only bottled or boiled water.

3 tons of sodium hypochlorite are being delivered to Dagestan for water disinfection. Renat Khalidov, the head of the district utilities, suspected of involvement in the incident, has been arrested.
